Community Planning

The Community Development Consultants' of the Community Development Unit primary function is assisting communities with the Arkansas Community of Excellence (ACE) process. It is a tool for communities to prepare themselves to target specific industries and businesses. ACE also allows communities to take a closer look at what weaknesses need to be overcome to provide a better quality of life for its residents.

Other functions are facilitating and conducting strategic planning sessions in communities to assist them in prioritizing their goals and objectives. The goals and objectives can be related to the ACE Process or can be a stand-alone process. The communities have a choice. Some communities would like to plan but do not want to pursue ACE status. As Community Development Consultants, we assist all communities in our assigned areas, large and small. We are not limited to incorporated municipalities; unincorporated areas are serviced as well.
