2020 Arkansas Minority and Women-Owned Business Matchmaking Event

 August 24, 2020

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission is hosting the first virtual Arkansas Minority and Women-Owned Business Matchmaking Event on Thursday, September 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Given the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to provide this unique opportunity for small, minority, and women-owned businesses to meet with suppliers who are motivated to award contracts to smaller businesses.

The Matchmaking Event will coincide with Minority Enterprise Development Week. We recognize that minority communities continue to face enormous challenges due to COVID-19. It is more important than ever for minority businesses to seek out solutions that promote business continuity.

Registrants will have 12-minute, pre-arranged matchmaking appointments that would be difficult to schedule independently. Additionally, the event includes several workshops featuring guest speakers and panel discussions that provide resources for minority and women-owned businesses.

The Matchmaking Event’s keynote speaker is Arkansas-native James F. Thrower, a former NFL player for the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles. Mr. Thrower is a community builder and serves as president and CEO of Jamjomar Inc., a family of eleven McDonald’s restaurants.

If you are interested in attending, register at ArkansasEDC.com/Matchmaking2020. If your company is interested in sponsoring the Virtual Matchmaking Event, visit ArkansasEDC.com/sponsor.

Thank you to our sponsors for supporting Arkansas businesses.
