Arkansas rings in the New Year on the world’s biggest stage.

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and Arkansas Economic Development Commission Executive Director Mike Preston completed a three-day business trip to New York City last week to promote doing business in Arkansas and discuss the economic momentum happening in the state.

"Since January 2015, Arkansas Economic Development Commission has signed incentive agreements with 109 new and expanding companies. Arkansas is a natural for business,” explained Gov. Hutchinson.

Mike Preston joined Governor Hutchinson on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and met privately with Thomas Farley, NYSE President, and John Tuttle, NYSE Chief of Staff. From there, the Governor spoke with market makers who trade on behalf of Arkansas based companies, gaining valuable insight to trends that directly affect our state’s economy.

Arkansas has 21 companies that trade on the world’s largest stock exchange: Axciom Corporation, Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc., America’s Car-Mart Inc., ArcBest Corporation, Bank of the Ozarks, Bear State Financial Inc., Communications Sales & Leasing, Deltic Timber Corporation, Dillard’s Inc., Entergy Arkansas, Inc., Home BancShares, Inc., Inuvo Inc., J.B.
