Manufacturing Solutions to host Kata Practitioner

Manufacturing Solutions, a department of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Existing Business Resource Division, will host a Kata Practitioner Day Wednesday, March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Little Rock Marriott, 3 Statehouse Plaza, Little Rock. Kata is a continuous improvement (LEAN) methodology to develop everyday habits, skills and capabilities in people aligned with, and in support of, achieving long-term objectives of their organization.

Attendees will gain firsthand knowledge about Toyota Kata methods from professionals in manufacturing, healthcare, government, and education. In addition, Mike Rother, keynote speaker, will facilitate a “Kata in the Classroom” session that brings Improvement Kata to schools through a 50-minute activity in which teams of students work together to solve a puzzle.
