CoorsTek doubles down on expansion in Benton

 April 26, 2021

April 26, 2021 (Benton, Ark.) – CoorsTek, a world-leading engineered ceramics manufacturer, is announcing an additional expansion of its manufacturing footprint in Benton, Arkansas. In 2020, construction was completed on a $26M building expansion at the Benton facility for additional manufacturing operations in the aerospace and defense markets. This new expansion will bring additional manufacturing operations to the site unrelated to the previous expansion.

“The expansion of our Benton facility is a key step in our long-term strategy for CoorsTek supporting the evolution and innovation in the defense and aerospace markets,” said Jonathan Coors, Co-CEO.  “Benton has long been an important manufacturing hub for us, and the support and partnership we have experienced from both local and state governments has been a driving factor in our desire for continued investment in Arkansas.”

The expansion will amount to an additional $9 million in capital investments at the 230,000 square foot facility and increase its workforce, adding 50 new positions over the next few years. The Benton facility has served U.S. and international customers in the aerospace and defense industries since 1979.

“It’s been two years since CoorsTek broke ground for a $26 million expansion in Benton, which the company completed last year,” said Gov. Asa Hutchinson. “Here they are again, creating more jobs and further polishing Arkansas’ reputation in the defense and aerospace markets. If I hear of a CEO who wonders whether Arkansas is a good place to do business, I’ll recommend a visit to CoorsTek.”

“CoorsTek has been a valued business partner in Benton for over 40 years,” said Arkansas Secretary of Commerce Mike Preston. “They are a great example of the type of advanced manufacturing company we want here in Arkansas, bringing higher paying jobs and investing in our communities.”

"A little over two years ago I had the privilege of meeting the Coors CEOs at the expansion of their plant located in Benton, Arkansas,” said Mayor Tom Farmer. “They have been a great neighbor and we look forward to the upcoming expansion again in our city. As they continue to expand so do the many opportunities for employment within our city for our citizens. They bring opportunities to our ever-growing city that we are appreciative of."
