Markeith Cook

Owner, JKC Companies

Markeith Cook is a small business owner operating multiple businesses in South Arkansas. These businesses include All Around Transportation, JKC Cleaning Solutions, JKC Product Distribution, and JKC Civil Process Services.

Previously, Markeith served as Project Manager/Consultant for BL Breggs & Associates, and served as Business Account Manager (BAM) for Verizon Wireless in El Dorado. Markeith held numerous positions with Verizon including Solutions Manager and Small/Medium Business Markeith also worked as the Workforce Coordinator for the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce.

Markeith recently started an organization called Coalition Of Black Professionals, which aims to promote and support minority small businesses. He also established the South Arkansas Black Chamber of Commerce & Community Development, 501c3 nonprofit, to be the lead institution in South Arkansas for black business development and community projects.

Markeith has been involved in numerous community organizations and projects throughout South Arkansas, including the Union County/El Dorado Chamber of Commerce (Board Member) and a member of Leadership Union County, Class I. Markeith is the founder of the Respect Coalition, a member of the 13th South CASA Board of Directors (Past) now known as The South Arkansas Children's Coalition, Bancorp South Community Reinvestment Advisory Board, Arkansas Drug Take Back Committee (Past) The STAND Foundation alumnus committee, Pride and Progress Club member, and Past President of the Union NAACP.

In addition, Markeith is currently a board commissioner for the Arkansas Minority & Women Owned Business Advisory Council appointed by the Arkansas Speaker of The House. He is a past board commissioner for the Arkansas Martin Luther King Commission appointed by the Arkansas Senate Pro Tempore and a past board commissioner of the Minority Health Commission also appointed by the Arkansas Speaker of the House. He has also served on the Murphy USA Classic Committee, the advisory committee for El Dorado Festivals and Events, and the Transportation/Highway 82 Revitalization Advisory Committee. In the past, he served on the El Dorado Entrepreneurship Task Force. Markeith was also recognized by the Honorable Governor Asa Hutchinson as an Arkansas Distinguished Citizen in 2016.
