 January 22, 2026

Arkansas has been selected for a 2025 Deal of the Year Impact Award by Business Facilities, an industry publication focused on the site selection marketplace and economic development professionals.

Business Facilities announced that Arkansas received a Deal of the Year Impact Award in the Sustainability/Manufacturing category for the state’s Green Bay Packaging announcement. The Impact Awards are designed to “showcase corporate relocation and expansion investments that are having, or are expected to have, a significant impact on the communities in which they are located,” according to Business Facilities.

Green Bay Packaging announced plans to invest more than $1 billion to expand its existing manufacturing operations

in Morrilton, Arkansas in June 2025. The multi-year project will focus on enhancing the mill’s infrastructure and increasing its production capacity. Green Bay Packaging is also acquiring 300 acres of land for future expansions as part of the investment.

This is the third consecutive year that Arkansas has received an Impact Award. For the 2024 calendar year, Arkansas received an Impact Award in the Timber and Forestry category for the announcement of Weyerhaeuser’s $500 million investment to develop a new, state-of-the-art TimberStrand® facility near Monticello and Warren. The previous year, Arkansas received an Impact Award in the Social Impact category for Westrock Coffee’s $300 million expansion in Conway.

The Deal of the Year Impact Award will be highlighted in the January/February 2026 issue of Business Facilities magazine.
