Targeting the Firearms and Ammunition Industry at SHOT Show

 January 23, 2024

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission is starting off 2024 with a bang by attending the 46th annual SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leading a delegation of Arkansas officials and economic developers to the SHOT Show to promote our state’s growing firearms and ammunition industry. At the event, we aim to spotlight the firearm and ammunition companies in Arkansas and highlight the opportunities the Natural State offers to companies looking to grow in a state with a friendly business environment, talented workforce, and low taxes.

The firearms and ammunition industry is a significant part of our state’s economy and a target industry for AEDC. Attending SHOT Show is an important part of ensuring that we continue to grow this industry in Arkansas.

Historically, our state has had a strong firearms and ammunition industry, and it has only gotten stronger in recent years. Here are some of the recent economic development wins in Arkansas:

  • 2024 – Walther Manufacturing is expanding its facility in Fort Smith with a $30 million capital investment and 76 jobs created.
  • 2023 – SIG Sauer is expanding its ammunition manufacturing facility in Jacksonville with a $150 million capital investment and 625 jobs created.
  • 2022 – Fiocchi USA selected Little Rock for a new primer manufacturing facility with a $41.5 million capital investment and 120 jobs created.
  • 2021 – Vista Outdoor acquired the Remington Ammunition Facility in Lonoke, adding hundreds of jobs at the facility.
  • 2020 – Fiocchi USA established manufacturing operations in Little Rock with a $15 million capital investment and 85 jobs created.

These economic development projects demonstrate the strength of Arkansas’ firearms and ammunition industry – but this is just the start.

We want to win more than our fair share of firearms and ammunition-related projects, and the SHOT Show is always a great venue for meeting new industry executives and maintaining existing relationships. With more than 52,000 professionals attending the 2023 SHOT Show, this year’s event should be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the industry, meet new contacts, and visit with old friends.

We are excited to highlight Arkansas’ firearms and ammunition industry at the SHOT Show this year. Please reach out if you would like to connect to learn more about how Arkansas can help your firearms and ammunition company grow.
