Arkansas Summer Research Institute

The Center for Advanced Surface Engineering (CASE) in collaboration with the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, & the Arts (ASMSA) hosts the annual Arkansas Summer Research Institute (ASRI) at the ASMSA campus in Hot Springs, AR. The event is attended by STEM undergraduates from Arkansas and the surrounding region.

The ASRI is an intensive professional development experience where students receive training in career development, research and lab techniques, science communication, research ethics, 3D printing, CAD modeling, and more.

Recap videos from 2017, 2018, and 2019 can be found on the AREPSCoR YouTube Channel.

The ASRI was held virtually for the first time during late July 2020. 48 undergraduates completed the two-week event.

Details about the 2021 ASRI will be announced in early Spring 2021. Funding has been secured through the National Science Foundation for the program to continue another five years.
